The Houston Deaf Advisory Committee (HDAC) is now accepting applications! We are looking for leaders and advocates of the deaf community to partipate in quarterly meetings on issues in the city of Houston pertaining to the deaf community.

The purpose of the HDAC is to advise and make recommendations to the Mayor’s Office for People with Disabilities and city departments on issues pertaining to the deaf and hard of hearing community in the city of Houston. We need to work together to make Houston more “deaf-friendly.”

There are five new Committee positions opened. This is a nonpaid, volunteer opportunity. The Committee is open to hearing and deaf advocates.

If anyone is interested, please send a complete application to Kaitlyn Tracy at Kaitlyn.Tracy@houstontx.gov or by mail. The address is provided in the application. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

If you have any questions or concerns, please e-mail Kaitlyn at Kaitlyn.Tracy@houstontx.gov or call 281-936-0770 (VP).
