Are you ready for an evening of recognition and awards? Are you ready to watch a deaf performer perform at the event! Well that is what we have in the store for you! Greater Houston Deaf Connections is proud to host the 2nd annual Deaf Awareness Awards/Banquet Night on October 1, 2011! We have some exciting times lined up! We will have a buffet style meal, then recognize individuals, organizations within the Greater Houston area – (based on YOUR submissions not ours!). And then we will have a performance from Doug Ridloff – a deaf ASL performer who has traveled all over America with his act!

Come Join us for a night of elegance, decadence and artistry at Austin’s DoubleTree Hotel Phoenix Central Ballroom. Complete with a cash bar, entertainment, event photographers, delicious cajun foods and desserts!

What to wear??
Ladies wear a formal gown and Gentlemen wear either black suit/tie or a tuxedo.
Wear a mask to conceal your identity.

What’s on the Menu??
Field greens with red onion & spicy pecans served with blue cheese crumbles and a choice of dressing.
Blackened Catfish Diane, Blackened Chicken with Roasted Red Pepper Cream, Chicken and Sausage Gumbo and Shrimp Creole….MMM!

Desserts will be Dulce De Leche Cheesecake & Ultimate Chocolate Cake and Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake.

We will provide a cash bar for alcoholic beverages. Guests have to be at least 21 years old.

How much does it cost?
Tickets are on sale now! $50 per person, $95 per couple before February 19, 2011.
The tickets will go up to $75 per person, $135 per couple after February 19, 2011.

Deafula Cancellation

I regret to say this but I have to cancel Deafula that is being exhibited on Oct the 20th at Lonestar Community College-Kingwood due to copyright issues and potential fines if the movie is being shown. Please pass this to people you invited to come with you. Again I apologize profoundly. I know we have been looking forward to this. Me too…big time. However look forward to other events that is being brain-stormed inside my brains. – Joseph Holmberg

Our Lone Star College-CyFair Sign & Deaf Culture Club has decided to utilize the discount below to create an LSC-CF Social for our ASL/ITP students. Please feel free to pass this along to the Deaf community as well. Let’s meet at 1:00pm outside of the ticket booth! If you are with an LSC-CyFair student or faculty member who has a name badge or an ID, that person can have an unlimited number of guests who can benefit from the school’s discount. We can make our social from 1:00-5:00 pm and if people decide they would like to stay longer or arrive earlier, they are welcome to do so. We hope to see you there!
