The Show of Hands is an ASL student club of the Lone Start College system. They will be sponsoring an ASL social on Friday June 14th, starting time 6:30pm till 10pm. Sagemont Church will be hosting a Deaf social on the evening of Saturday, June 1, 2013, from 6 to 8 P.M. (From now on, Sagemont’s Deaf socials will be the first Saturday of the month rather than the first Friday.) Bring finger food and a game to play with attendees. Greater Harris County 9-1-1 Emergency (GHC9-1-1) has implemented a new 9-1-1 emergency texting service for residents who are deaf, hard-of-hearing or speech impaired. The service is available ONLY in Harris and Fort Bend Counties. The new texting service allows a resident to text a special short code 442911 to connect with a 9-1-1 call center within Harris and Fort Bend Counties.
