Submitted by: Jesse Wolfe | Email: aslnewsservice@live.com

An estimated 1500 Deaf, Deaf-Blind, Hard-of-Hearing, and Hearing individuals from 13 states will attend a special three-day convention beginning on Friday, August 5 in Denton, Texas. This convention is one of seven conventions hosted this summer by Jehovah’s Witnesses presented entirely in American Sign Language. Please find attached the Preconvention Release announcing the upcoming convention at the Denton, Texas Assembly Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

The convention last year received outstanding coverage from the Denton Record-Chronicle newspaper.

An effort is being made to alert the Deaf community in the 13 states with delegates attending the convention.

Is this event scheduled for 2012 or from last years? I see a reference to July 26,2011 as the date for the article or advertisement. If it is for this year (2012) then where is the event being held, how does it cost, when does it start and end and other Pertinent information? Thanks

I just saw the posting about the 3-day ASL convention in Denton Texas. It is the weekend July 27,28 & 29, 2012. The programs starts at 9:20 am and ends at 3:40 pm. It is being held at Denton Assembly Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 14542 US Highway 380W, Krum, TX 76249. Also, admission is free. Also if you would like more information about it, you can go to http://www.jw.org. Hope this helps.
